16″ Diameter Auger Cast Piles Installation
Location: Sparky Drive
Client: Clean Gas/HGC Ltd.
Watler and Hislop Services were contracted to install 177 – 16″ diameter piles, approximately 20′ in depth. The piles were split between the Office Administration Building and the Propane Gas storage tanks. The project was completed in a total of 8 days.
During the early phases of construction, we realized that the original structural design wasn’t going to work. Our engineers came up with a pile and beam solution for our footers and foundations. We were a bit upset that we had to switch gears in mid-stream, but our main concern was getting a company to come in on such short notice. To our surprise, Watler & Hislop came in and saved the project for us! They were on site in two days, and drilled 177 piles for us. What’s more impressive is that the piles were completed in 8 days, and when the surveyor came in to measure the job they were almost perfectly in line. The accuracy of the piles has made building the beams very easy, and we are way ahead of schedule on our build.

Past and Present Projects:
Cypress Pointe North – Watler and Hislop is working with one of Cayman’s leading residential and commercial developers, NCB Group, on the construction of this innovative community and has been hired to drill all of the auger cast pilings for 38 residences, installation of the road drainage system and the drilling for the geothermal wells. Cypress Pointe North seamlessly blends environmental sustainability with outstanding luxury and a deep sense of community. It is one of the most energy efficient communities in the Caribbean with all of the homes being powered through solar panels and cooled with geothermal cooling.
Cayman Technology Centre – The spaces will be cooled with geothermal technology and powered with solar panels – all helping to significantly reduce operating costs.
CUC Caribbean Utilities Company – The only registered Electricity provider in the Cayman Islands called on Watler & Hislop Services to install the Fire Wells at their substations, which is an essential component for meeting and maintaining safety requirements.
